Rivers & Glen Trading Co. was founded in Augusta, GA, in 2000. The name originates from its Scottish roots: rivers where you could fly fish and glens where you could hunt and chase game. After working in the business during his college summers, Walker Hopkins fell in love with Rivers & Glen and decided to acquire the business in 2010 to pursue a career in the outdoor industry. During its initial phase, Walker curated brands that focused on small businesses, high-quality goods, and maintaining a high standard of customer service.

After a few years of sustained growth in Augusta, Walker set out to expand the brand and decided to open a second location in Savannah, GA, bringing the Rivers & Glen brand to the Lowcountry. The local community was drawn to the shop, and it filled a much-needed gap for fly fishing and hunting in the area. Shortly after, Walker met Francisco Bergaz, a fellow passionate outdoor enthusiast. Francisco had held various positions in the world of conservation and had traveled the world and the U.S. hunting and fishing.

The two friends and partners set out to expand further and added a third location in the Charleston, SC area. It was at this pivotal moment that they both decided to make Rivers & Glen a conservation platform for local organizations to protect the local habitat and hunting and fishing culture. With this new phase, they also decided to enter the world of sporting firearms, bringing the same level of quality to their customers. Rivers & Glen is not only a brick-and-mortar retail location but also a unique experience where our customers are treated like family and we provide a comfortable environment with our expert knowledge. We live vicariously through our customers and strive to provide the very best equipment available to help them achieve their outdoor goals.
